Member Spotlight - March 2008

One officer position that is usually overlooked is the Treasurer's, yet it is critical to any organization's continuing to function.  Our Treasurer, for the past 3 years, is Bud Vogt. Bud is originally from Feasterville, Pa. (which is outside Philadelphia).  He has been married to his wife, Clare, for 35 years.  She was from a neighboring town.  To tell you how small this world really is, as I was talking to Bud I come to find out that my wife, Beverly, also went to the same high school in the same year as did Bud and they knew mutual people.  I guess it will be old times at the picnic where they can trade stories.  Bud owned a printing shop in PA. He and Clare moved to Florida in 1988.  He graduated from UCF in 1992 with a major in Business Administration.  He currently works for UCF in printing services. He too has been a general handyman around the house for the past 40 years. He has nearly completed a 5-year project in their kitchen making new face frames for the cabinets as well as raised panel doors.  He has been in the fine wood working for about eight years.  For his next project, he would like to try a spice box done by Steve Latta as seen in a past issue of Fine Woodworking magazine.  Unfortunately as with many of us there is never enough time to go around.  His workshop consists of one side of a 2-car garage and another small area in another garage.
