BOBBY HEARD was born in Plymouth, Florida, the youngest of 5 siblings.  He graduated from Apopka High School in 1961. He worked for Minute Maid for 6 years and then for Southern Bell.  He retired from Southern in 9/2007 after 39.5 years (they gave him 40 yrs credit) having worked as a electronic technician maintain switching equipment.  He met his wife Sharon at the Orlando Coliseum skating rink, married 44 years, have 2 sons, 43 and 39, and 6 grandchildren.

Bobby likes to help his kids maintain their homes as well as his, working with his church, and taking trips with their RV. Now that he is retired he hopes to do more woodworking.  Although he has no specialty he does like to do toys.  He has been a member of the Guild since 1988. His biggest project was building a two story barn (16’x24’) about 15 years ago.  It is now full of STUFF.  We are all familiar with STUFF.  His most exciting project was building a corner curio cabinet with glass shelves and glass in the side panels and door.  It was constructed of teak he had purchased 20 years earlier but couldn’t get his mind set on what he wanted to do with it.  He showed the cabinet the annual Show and Tell in the early 90’s.  The boards were 5/4 thick, 9-10’ long, and 8” wide.
