Welcome to the Central Florida Woodworkers Guild website
The purpose of our guild is to encourage the craft of woodworking by sharing
our skills and knowledge in all aspects of woodworking.
The skills of our guild members vary from upholster to scrollsaw expert,
veneering to turning, CAD designers to all hand tool users. Practitioners
from all areas of the woodworking craft.
At each month’s meeting, guild members show projects they are working on or
have finished in the last month. In addition to the types of wood used,
members explain the processes they used, problems they encountered, and their
work-around, tools and fixtures they made to build the project, special set-ups
used, and the finish and finishing process they used.
We also have a program at each month’s meeting that covers some aspect of
woodworking. In the near past we have had programs on tool sharpening,
making and installing crown molding, computer aided design, in-laying
mother-of-pearl, shop safety, using a dovetail fixture and many other varied
subjects.
Our November meeting is dedicated to our Super Show-&-Tell. This is a
chance for guild members to show off their best-of-the-best. Awards are
given to the first three places in Furniture, Boxes, Accessories and Tools as
well as Best-of-Show.
Several times each year we have Open Shops where guild members open up their
shops so other guild members can see how they are set up.
A special benefit for guild members is our annual seminar presented by a
nationally known woodworking expert. Last year Mitch Kohanek presented a
two day (weekend) seminar on finishing that was world class.

17/92, Fern Park, FL 32730 map) at 7:00pm the second Thursday of each month*.
